澳洲国防部长马勒斯（Richard Marles）今天证实，在新加坡香格里拉对话会议上，他被介绍给中国防长魏凤和；这是澳中两国2年多以来首度有这类接触。


也是澳洲副总理的马勒斯，告诉澳洲天空新闻（Sky News Australia）说，在香格里拉安全峰会上，两人有握手，但没有机会进行适当对话。


马勒斯说，今天是香格里拉对话最后一天，两人之间可能举行会谈。


自澳洲呼吁对COVID-19（2019冠状病毒疾病）疫情起源进行独立调查，并排除中国科技大厂华为参与澳洲5G网路建设后，近年来北京与坎培拉之间关係已降至冰点。


马勒斯谨慎表示，两人互动就是「单纯地握手」，但他提到美国国防部长奥斯汀（Lloyd Austin）与魏凤和在新加坡有过会谈。


马勒斯呼吁中国在其「非常显着的军事集结上」应透明化。


马勒斯表示：「不安全是导至军备竞赛的原因，我们不能在这个区域看到这种情况发生。」


此外，澳洲贸易暨观光部长法拉尔（Don Farrell）也寻求在日内瓦（Geneva）世界贸易组织（WTO）会议场合，与中国商务部长王文涛见面。
