周日，菲律宾自由工人联合会(FFW)警告菲律宾免税店(Duty Free)即将进行大规模裁员。

自由工人联合会主席Sonny Matula 周日表示，已向菲律宾免税店工人联合会(UWDFP)的约 700 名员工发出了第二次重组通知，以响应政府控制企业治理委员会(GCG)发布的拟议规模调整重组计划。

他说：“这项命令标志着菲律宾免税公司的重大重组，将其目前的1000多名员工减少到仅345人，可能会迫使 700 名员工失业。我们对此提出了严重的反对意见。此举是一种几乎不加掩饰的私有化尝试，可能导致数百名政府工作人员大规模裁员。”

他补充说，菲律宾免税店工人联合会将向巴兰玉计市(Paranaque)提交调卷申请，并祈祷获得禁令救济，以阻止菲律宾免税店批准的重组计划。

工会主席Ernesto Mangalindan称：“我们不能再停止该计划，因为已经向我们的大约 700 名成员发送了第二次通知。如果工会不采取法律行动，该计划预计将导致 6 月中旬菲律宾免税店的政府雇员大范围解雇。这与小费迪南德·马科斯总统将旅游业提升为主要部门的计划背道而驰创造就业机会。”

Matula表示，他们希望马科斯总统能够进行干预。他补充说：“我们的工人应该得到公平待遇、任期保障以及他们作为正式政府雇员的权利得到充分承认。”
